Know About Palmistry

Palmistry - also known as Chiromancy - is a popular practice among various cultures all over the world. A palm reading usually involves analyzing the shape and texture of hands, the formation of fingers, lines and markings on the palm and certain mounts on the palm. Through a study of these features, a good palmist will be able to describe clear facts regarding your past, present, character, career, marriage, impending dangers and much more.

The most important aspect in palmistry is identifying your dominant and non-dominant hand. The dominant hand is your active hand or - to put it simply - the hand you write with. The dominant hand is believed to be a reflection of your present - your aspirations, expectations and achievements. The non-dominant hand is an indicator of your past - habits and incidents from your past and your hidden talents.

Next comes the lines and mounts in your palm. There are seven main mounts on the palm that represent the subconscious traits in your mind. These are the mounts of Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The lines on the palm may be classified into major and minor lines. The major palm lines of life, heart and head indicate your degree of subconscious awareness. The minor palm lines - of Sun, Mercury, Saturn and girdle of Venus - are the indicators of your ability to effectively harness the hidden talents and untapped energies within you.

Each line or marking on the palm reveals vital information about your character, your past, present and future. The formation of mounts and shape of fingers also speak volumes about your inherent qualities. Palmistry also involves deciphering certain symbols like a star or cross that may be present in your palm. An expert palm reader does not limit himself to simply predicting your past, present and future. The palmist will also be able to transform your life by guiding you towards a better understanding of yourself.

Here are some magnified skin ridges. Ridges look like the ridges of a ploughed field, making patterns on the surface of the skin. Skin ridges are widely known for the fingerprint patterns they create, but they also create patterns all over the palms.    The consistency of hands allows you to discover more about energy levels. How active are you? Can you keep going twenty four hours a day or do you like to take things a little easier   The Mounts are raised areas within your palm which, like astrology, are linked with the qualities associated with the planets. The brain transmits messages through the nervous system, which are picked up by the millions of nerve endings within the palms.   Are you a quick thinking person, summing up situations in a flash, or are your thought processes more careful and detailed?  Did you know that the length of your fingers in relation to your palm length gives the hand analyst some information about how speedy your thought processes are?
A hand analyst will also look at the smoothness of your fingers. Some fingers have incredibly smooth contours while others have a distinctly knotty look around the knuckles. These knotty knuckles are discovered when you try to push a ring over the top of the knot, only to find the ring is still loose when in place, but also impossible to pull off again without the help of a little soapy water.   Loop fingerprints reveal people who are versatile and adaptable and who have lively, enquiring minds. These people are happy to exchange ideas with others.   Broad and square nails reveal an easy going, calm, honest, patient, upright, balanced, and broad minded person.   The thumb is a very important feature of the hands because without it, no matter what qualities are found in the rest of the hand, there would be no driving force to push those qualities forward, nor any logic or reasoning behind that willpower.

The life line is one of the most important lines in the palm, revealing among other things, your physical constitution and your current state of health. The life line originates at a point above the thumb between the Mars and Jupiter mounts (see section on Mounts) and curves downwards following the outer edges of both mounts encircling the ball of the thumb. The Life line basically represents the quality of life in terms of physical well being.

The Head line represents the mental constitution, so that energy running through this line reveals the way a person things, his brain power, concentration and memory, intellect and reasoning ability.

When considering the feelings and emotions, the line to look for is the Heart Line.  This line crosses the palm below the fingers, starting on the edge of the palm below the little finger and crossing the palm to end anywhere beneath any of the other fingers. The heart line can be straight, or it can curve smoothly or deeply upwards.

The line running from the base of the palm up towards the Saturn (middle) finger has been named the Saturn line, the line of fate or the line of Destiny. Whichever name is used, it will always be found in the middle of the palm pointing in the direction of Saturn.

The Apollo line, also named the Sun line, may originate from any point in the palm, heading towards the Apollo Mount. This line is not often found in it’s true form, that is, running from the palmar base to the Apollo mount, but is more often found starting higher up the palm, sometimes only appearing on the actual Apollo mount itself. In many hands the line is missing completely.

When someone asks me if they are likely to travel, my first reply is likely to be ‘Do you want to travel? The very fact the question has been asked hints that the person may have already considered travel, or is keen to travel and broaden their horizons.

When looking into your own hands, remember that palmists look for many signs within the hands, gradually building up clues about the person and his life. A palmist will never, ever, make a statement by looking at one sign standing alone. It is also important to remember that marriage is a contract made on paper and as such, is not recognised by the hands!

Palmists are divided in their view about the accuracy of child lines within the palms. Some palmists insist that child lines have always proved to be accurate, while others will say they have not found them to be sufficiently accurate to warrant mentioning them.

Shri Rajubhai Jyotishi observes aspects like size, texture, color, forms and formations of lines and other typical symbols on the palm. Based on these readings, accurate predictions are made.
